Peace of Mind starts with knowing your child will have someone to help them when you can't. We know how daunting it can be to find help, let alone accept the help once we find it! We have so many details in our heads, we've made it nearly impossible to pass the torch to another caregiver. Whether it's for an afternoon or full-time, we need to begin the process of accepting help.
I want to share a little about my personal journey as our daughter became an adult. For my mental health, and for her best future, I knew I could no longer gatekeep her caregiving. I took the extreme step of leaving the house for three months to travel, volunteer and visit family. I needed the push to get organized -- and to simplify! It has helped so much.
You don't need to leave like I did, but I encourage you to find little ways to pull away and let others fill in your space.
Watch the videos. Start small and slow. Need six months to get through the videos instead of six weeks? No problem. Set a goal that works for you. Each video has a challenge to keep you motivated. I hope they help!
